Swipeful Privacy Policy

Swipeful does not collect, transmit, or store any of your personal information. There are no analytics, no accounts, no advertising, and no third-party SDKs. Your photos never leave your device.

What the app does with your photos and videos

Swipeful shows photos and videos from your library one at a time so you can sort them. All of this happens on your device, using Apple's PhotoKit framework. Swipeful never uploads, copies, or transmits your photos or videos anywhere. Playing a video plays it from your own library; if it is stored in iCloud, Apple's software downloads it to your device the same way the Photos app would.

Sorting an item records only its identifier — a reference Apple's software uses to point at a photo or video already in your library — so the app remembers what you decided. These identifiers are stored on your device and are meaningless anywhere else.

Nothing in your photo library is changed until you confirm it on the Review Changes screen. Deleted photos go to Recently Deleted in the Photos app, where iOS keeps them for 30 days.

Information Swipeful collects

None. The app has no analytics or crash reporting, no user accounts or sign-in, no advertising or tracking, no third-party SDKs, and makes no network requests of its own.

Data stored on your device

Three things are saved locally, and only locally:

• Your sorting decisions and preferences — which items you marked, your chosen album, and what you last picked when starting a session. These are removed when you delete the app.
• The file size of items the app has measured, so that sorting by largest first does not have to measure your whole library every time. It is a list of identifiers and byte counts, removed when you delete the app.
• A count of how many photos and videos you have sorted, kept in the device keychain so the free allowance is not reset by reinstalling the app. It is a number and nothing else.

Neither is transmitted anywhere, and neither is readable by anyone but you.

Network use

Swipeful makes no network requests of its own. If your photos and videos are stored in iCloud, iOS may download one on the app's behalf so it can be shown to you. For a video, that happens when you play it, and — over Wi-Fi, for the video currently on screen — to read enough of it to show you a clear still instead of a blurry one. You can turn that off in Settings. That is Apple moving your own data for you, under Apple's privacy policy, and no photo is sent to the developer or to any third party.

Purchases

Swipeful offers a one-time purchase to unlock unlimited sorting. Payments are handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. The app never sees or stores your payment details, and receives only a yes-or-no answer about whether the unlock has been purchased.

Children

Swipeful is suitable for all ages and collects no information from anyone, including children under 13.

Changes to this policy

If a future version of Swipeful ever collects anything, this page will be updated before that version is released, and the change will be described here rather than made quietly.
